Early of this month, I had a business trip in Vientiane, Laos. This time I stayed at Chanthapanya Hotel, a Lao modern style hotel which is located near by tourist attractions. This blog post is aimed to review the hotel. If you are finding a place to stay in Vientiane, this hotel could be your choice.
The photos below was taken in front of the hotel. From the outside through the lobby we can see that this hotel was decorated with carved timber furniture.
After stepping into the hotel, we were welcomed warmly by the staffs.
As a Thai, I was very familiar with the decorations.
I stayed at Chanthapanya for 5 nights in 2 rooms. The first two nights was at one room, and the rest was at another room. I was not sure what my room type was, just only knew that the first room was cheaper than the second room (I did not book the room by myself).
The first room was nice. The room was not big, but it had space enough for one person. The mattress was a little too hard.
The bathroom was clean and the hairdryer was provided.
The second room was much bigger. The mattress and pillow was much better. I felt very comfy with this room.
With the bathtub and decorations, the bathroom was more luxurious. Well, at this room the Wi-Fi signal was very weak and was not stable.
The swimming pool and gym were provided. I went to gym once; it was very empty at that time. I was the only one in the gym.
The breakfast was included. The dining room was quite big comparing with the guests.
For me, the food was delicious and tasty. However, staying there for 5 nights, I found out that the food list was almost the same everyday and on the last day I felt bored.
I liked the soft-boiled rice and side dishes.
Sticky Rice and chili paste were tasty (not that spicy). Bread and salad were provided.
Juice, cornflake, fruit could be found as well.
Besides, on the dining table, there was a paper listing food that you can order such as fried egg, omelette, ham, bacon, sausage, as well as noodles, and soups. The staffs told me that the reason that they did not provide these foods to us in the beginning because they wanted to serve them hot.
In short, I was satisfied with the service I received. The staffs were really nice and friendly. The only thing that I did not like was the Wi-Fi signal which was weak and not stable.
