Our destinations on the fourth day are Lake Matheson, Knight’s Point, and Lake Hawea.
From hostel, we drove to Lake Matheson in early morning. We needed to walk a little bit from the car park. It was so cold, but we keep walking to the lake.
I was excited with the frost on the grass because it is difficult to see this thing in Thailand.
Then, we reached the lake; I was speechless with the breathtaking view. What a spectacular reflection!!
Before going back to the hostel, we went to the cozy coffee shop. The view outside the coffee shop was really nice, but I preferred to sit inside to escape from the cold.
Then, we were back to the hostel. While my friends were busy with moving stuffs to our car, I was having fun at the playground. I think this hostel is suitable for family.
We headed to Knight’s Point, another lookout. Winter and the wind…So cold!!! Well, I thought I needed a hat.
Our last stop on that day was Lake Hawea. Then, we drove to Wanaka.
Along the way to Wanaka, it was snowing! When we reached the hostel, the town was full with snow. I was excited that I could see snow from my bedroom window. Wow! Wow!! (Well, I am from a tropical country and I went to New Zealand before spending a year in Sweden where I saw snow from my bedroom window for half a year!) Now, I’m not excited with this view anymore!!
On that day we were excited with the snow. We knew that we were heading south which was colder than the north, but we did not realize that it was the worst storm hitting New Zealand in the last 50 years!!!
