Dear Galileo is a Thai romantic/ drama movie that do not relate to Galileo, an Italian scientist, much. It is not a science fiction movie. This movie is directed by Nithiwat Tharatorn, the director of Seasons Change.
The story begins when Cherry gets an “F” and is suspended from the university for a year because she forges her teacher’s signature in order to use the drafting room. And, Noon is heartbroken from her boyfriend. To escape from the problems, these two Thai teenagers decide to go to Europe together. Their destinations are three big cities in Europe: London, Paris, and Venice, and their plan is to work, save money, travel, and move to the next destination.
For me, the movie is light, but beautiful. The movie is about ‘once in a lifetime’ experience that many teens want to do, but there are many points in this movie that are unrealistic. Besides, thing that annoys me through the movie is Cherry, who does not have a good attitude about morality, gets good a chance while Noon, who is easily influenced by others, ends up in trouble. Anyway, many scenes in this movie made me want to have my own adventure in Europe (and I have one!).
Here is the movie’s International Trailer. Enjoy watching!
