First of all, I have to say I know that instant noodles are not healthy, and I know that everyone also knows. But, I admit that I eat them sometimes (not so often) as they are tasty and easy to prepare.
There are many instant noodles brands that you can usually see in supermarkets and convenient stores in Thailand and each brand has a variety of flavors. Some of them are products of Thailand, while some of them are products from other Asian countries such as Japan, Korea, and Indonesia.
There are 3 top selling brands for Thai instant noodles: Mama, WaiWai, and Yum Yum. We generally call all instant noodles that ‘Mama’, even if we are referring to other brands.
The instant noodles usually are sold in 2 forms: packet and paper cup. The paper cup is a bit more expensive than packet. Inside the cup, there is a plastic fork, so you do not to wash anything after the meal.
A packet of instant noodles could be found as cheap as 6 baht. For the paper up, it cost around 12-15 baht. And, if you buy more (in a pack of 3, 6, or 12), you will get cheaper price.
How to eat it
As you may know, just put the noodles into the bowl, add the seasoning that comes with the noodles, and add boiling water. Many Thai also add meat, egg, and vegetable to make it healthier. Besides, Thai has different ways to eat instant noodles. Read this post, if you want to know.
