The Teacher’s Diary is a Thai romantic, comedy and drama movie. The story is about the two teachers who were assigned to teach at the same rural school (a remote floating school without electricity and phone signal), but different time. The former teacher, Ann wrote her thoughts and feelings on a diary while she was teaching there. Soon, Teacher Ann left this rural school to another school. The latter teacher, Song came as a substitute. He found her diary, and wrote his thoughts and feelings on that diary too. He wanted to meet Teacher Ann. One day Teacher Song left the school, while Teacher Ann returned. She found her diary with Teacher Song’s stories. She also wanted to meet Teacher Song. The questions are
Is it possible to love someone you have never met before?
Can a diary connect two strangers?
This movie is sweet, funny, and heartwarming. It is different from other romantic comedy movies I had watched because in this movie the boy and the girl have never met until the last scene. Besides, the movie also touched on the subject of education. Like other GTH movies, after watching “The Teacher’s Diary”, a big smile put on my face.
Here is what you should know about this movie
- The floating school is real. There is a floating school in northern of Thailand. Well, the one in the movie is the setting scene, not the real one.
- The diary is inspired from the true story of a lady who found the diary on her office desk and she tried to find the owner. Finally, they met and got married.
