Because of this nature view, Wulai was automatically filled in my itinerary.
Wulai is a charming small town in Taipei which is famous for its hot springs and Aboriginal culture. I think Wulai is a great getaway place for family or couples. One of the reasons that I like this city is it is very easy to get in the town by public transportation. I went there by taking MRT to Xindian Station (the last station of the MRT green line) first. Then, from there, I took bus no. 849 for about 40 minutes to Wulai (the last stop of the bus).
From Wikitravel, it was advised to find a seat on the right side of the bus in order to get the views over the river. I did follow the recommendation and I want to recommend you to do so because I really enjoyed those beautiful views on the bus.
And this is the view I saw right after getting off the bus.
Wulai is quite small, so you do not have to worry about getting around; you can wander around the town by foot. But if you do not want to walk, the little train is another option.
And some people chose to ride bicycles.
I like the nature along the way.
Wulai waterfall is one of the tourist spots, but I was not that impressed with the waterfall here; maybe because for me, Shifen Waterfall was much more beautiful.
Around the town, you would see Aboriginal things.
I went there as a day trip and I regretted. I should have spent more time there and also tried the hot springs. If you plan to visit Taipei, I recommend you to spend more than a day in Wulai. Oh… and try the street foods there, it is delicious!
