Thailand is a country divided into 5 regions and 77 provinces. There are several popular destinations around the country that you might have heard before such as Bangkok, Chiang Mai, Phuket, Ayutthaya, and Kanchanaburi.
Today I am going to recommend you 12 more cities that are under “12 Cities Hidden Gems” project from TAT (Tourism Authority of Thailand). They are chosen as cities tourists should not miss when they are in the kingdom. If you are going to visit Thailand and finding hidden gems in Thailand, you have come to the right place. These 12 cities from 5 regions could be your choice.
In the north, Nan, Lampang, and Petchabun are recommended. I myself have never been to all three provinces, but few years ago, I have seen many friends travel to Nan, one of the romantic provinces in Thailand.
In the north east, Loei and Buriram are recommended. I have been to Chiangkan, a district in Loei once; I loved this charming city and its food.
In the central, Ratchaburi and Samut Songkhram are recommended. Both provinces are not far from Bangkok. I have been to Ratchaburi several times; Suan Phueng is a popular district in this province. You can expect to see cute and nice resorts there. The most famous floating market in Thailand is also located in Ratchaburi.
In the east, Trat and Chanthaburi are recommended. I have been to Trat several times; Koh Chang and Koh Kood are popular destinations in this provice.
In the east, Chumphon, Trang, and Nakorn Si Thammarat are recommended.
I have been to only some attractions in some provinces, so I cannot give you detailed information. However, there are videos and websites promoting these 12 provinces. Even if most of the information is in Thai language, I believe that the photos from the videos and websites help. Visit the link below, if you are searching for hidden gems in Thailand. Enjoy traveling!
