8 Day Trips from Bangkok

Bangkok is a capital city of Thailand and it is one of the top destinations in the world. This city is full with points of interest. However, the provinces nearby are also worth visiting because of their charm and uniqueness. Today I have 8 recommended places that are not far from Bangkok and you can make it as a day trip to share with you.

A day trip to Koh Si Chang

Koh Si Chang is located at Chonburi Province and it is 3-hour drive from Bangkok. Some locals go there for a day trip, while some stay overnight on the island. On the island, there are historical sites, temples, and beaches. You can get around the island by motorcycle or tuk tuk. You can read my post about Koh Si Chang here.

A day trip to the sunflower fields

Popular sunflower fields are in Lopburi and Saraburi and they are in full bloom from November to January. Plan to visit the fields might be more difficult that other trips because it depends on the weather. You can read my post about sunflower fields here.

A day trip to Koh Kret

Koh Kret is located in Nonthaburi Province. I have been to this island two times. First time is in 2014 and second time is in 2018. The island is not big and take only 2-3 hours to walk around. I love the food there. The food there is rarely seen in Bangkok.

A day trip to Suphanburi

Suphanburi is only an hour drive from Bangkok. The top popular tourist attraction is an ancient market named Samchuk Market. The wooden houses and old buildings selling vintage stuffs give the atmosphere of the old Thai ways of life. Buffalo Villages is another place worth visiting. The buffalo show impressed me a lot. A day trip to Wat Leng Noei Yi 2

Wat Leng Noei Yi 2 is a huge Chinese Buddhist temple located in Nonthaburi Province. You will be amazed by Chinese architecture, paintings, and statues. You can read my post about this temple here.

A day trip to The Erawan Museum

The Erawan Museum is located at Sumutprakan Province. It is a unique museum because of the giant three headed elephant that can be seen from a distance. This museum preserves vast collection of Asian antiquities. You can read my post about The Erawan Museum here.

A day trip to Damnoen Saduak Floating Market

Visit floating market is one of the things to do in Bangkok and around, and Damnoen Saduak Floating Market is the most famous one. The market is located at Ratchaburi Province which is about 2-hour drive from Bangkok. At the market, you will see many local vendors selling food and other products from their boats.
