Klong San Market is a shopping market on the banks of Chao Phraya River. It is a market where you can shop and eat like a local.
If you come by boat, you will see two long alleys which are full with shops selling trendy clothes, dresses, T-Shirts, shoes, handbags, cosmetics, and so on in cheap prices and bargain is acceptable. If you want to buy products here, do not forget to prepare cash. Most of the markets in Bangkok do not accept credit card.
The alleys are not so long. After walking for a while, you will start seeing stalls selling foods, drinks, and snacks. If you want to eat there, I do recommend you to go in the evening. In the afternoon, the weather is usually too hot to enjoy the food.
If you walk to the end of the market, you will see the big sign ‘Klong San Plaza’.
For me, Klong San is very similar to Wang Lang Market. These two markets are located on the Chao Phraya River banks on Thonburi side, sell cheap products, do not have so many tourists, and have many delicious street food stalls. While most of the stalls at Wang Lang Market open until 17.00, stalls at Klong San open longer until 22.00. So, you can plan to visit Klong San at night or in the evening.
If you want to see the ‘real’ market in Bangkok, I do recommend you to visit either Klong San Market or Wang Lang Market.
