A review of Seaview Congee, Mong Kok, Hong Kong

Today I am going to review a restaurant named Seaview Congee located in Mong Kok, Hong Kong. This restaurant sells traditional breakfast such as congee and oil fried bread sticks. While doing research for a trip to Hong Kong, I found out that many Thai recommended this restaurant for delicious congee.

Since this restaurant was near my hotel, I had breakfast here twice during my 4-day trip.

I did not know Chinese, but it was not a problem. The staff tried to communicate and helped me.

And the menu were written in 2 languages: Chinese and English.

Here were the dishes that I ordered.

Slide fish and pork congee: The congee was smooth. I liked the texture and also the taste. The fish was not smelly. The bowl looked small, but it took time to finish. And, I was very full.

Soy milk: Soy milk was so-so, nothing special.

Oil fried bread sticks: These sticks were oily, but tasty. And, it was great when eating with congee.

Twisted Curller Ricesheet Roll: The ricesheet roll was smooth, but thick. At first, I ate it with the dark sauce. Then, I ate the ricesheet roll with the sauce and ate the dough with the congee. For me, this dish was too oily.

Barbecue Pork Ricesheet Roll: The ricesheet roll was smooth, but think. I like this dish more than the dish before because of the taste of the barbecue pork inside.

Coffee: Coffee was the worst thing I ordered. It tasted sour and I could not finish it.

All in all, I recommended the congee. Ricesheet Roll was nice to try. But don’t order the coffee!
