Union Mall is an indoor shopping mall near Lat Phrao Junction. It has 8 stories with more than 1,000 shops. This mall is popular among local teenagers and working people, but less well-known than Chatuchak market, The Platinum fashion mall, and MBK Center for tourists.
The shops inside this shopping mall sell cheap and fashionable clothes, shoes, handbags, and accessories. Union mall is not a wholesale mall like The Platinum fashion mall, so the prices might be a little bit more expensive. But, this is Thailand; you can of course bargain the price!
If you love shopping cheap stuff and Chatuchak market is too hot for you, take the subway (MRT) to Union Mall. Then, you can enjoy shopping in an air-conditioned building. Well, if you have never been to Chatuchak market yet, I would recommend you to go there in the morning because it is one of the Bangkok’s main attractions, and then continue shopping at Union Mall in the afternoon (it is the time that Chatuchak gets hot and crowded).
And if you still have energy left, you can take the subway (MRT) to Sukhumvit and shop at Terminal21, a charming shopping mall. At Terminal21, the clothes are more expensive than Chatuchak and Union Mall (the quality is better too). You can shop around these 3 shopping places (Chatuchak market, Union Mall, and Terminal21) in a day; all places are easily reachable by MRT.
And if you prefer to buy things from high-end or international brand shops, Central Lat Phrao Shopping Mall is waiting for you just across the street. From Union Mall, Just find the exit which has the bridge connecting you to another building (CenterOne). Central Lat Phrao is located behind that building.
