Anne Frank House… A moving museum

Today while I looked for a book at my bookshelf, I saw Anne Frank’s Diary book. It reminded me that I got this book when I visited Anne Frank House in Amsterdam. One of my friends recommended me to visit this house and it turned to be one of the best museum experiences I have ever had.

“Who is Anne Frank?” I asked my friend when she told me to visit Anne Frank house. I had not known Anne Frank before. And my friend told me that Anne Frank was a Jewish girl who had to hide herself in her house during the World War II in order to escape from the Nazis. She wrote diary while hiding, and finally her diary got published.

It sounded interesting for me, but not that much. Anyway, I decided to visit the museum. And I am glad with my decision because Anne Frank House is one of the best museums I have ever visited.

Have you ever imagined how to hide yourself from the world in a house? The museum is the place where Anne was hiding and writing her diary. Walking through the furnished rooms seeing how she and her family lived made me feel sympathetic. At that time they could not go outside and could not even open the curtains during the day. They were afraid of being discovered and arrested and they did not know how long they had to stay hidden.

It was a moving museum. If you plan to visit Amsterdam, I do recommend you to visit this museum. My friends and I did not buy tickets in advance, but we were there quite early. When we left the museum, we saw a very long queue. So, in order not to waste your time with the long queue, make a reservation or be there early.

You can book a ticket here.
