Big C is a hypermarket chain in Thailand with several store formats such as Big C Supercenter, Big C Extra, Mini Big C, and so on. Big C has branches all over Bangkok. So if you visit Bangkok a day or two, I am sure you will see Big C at least once. The best or the most popular Big C branch in Bangkok would definitely be Big C Rajdamri. This branch is huge and has a good location (Opposite Central World). In this blog post, I aim to share you guys how Big C Rajdamri looks, and what you can eat&shop there.
Start from seeing the photo of Big C Rajdamri first. It is huge, isn’t it? This photo was taken from Central World.
Then, let’s talk about what you can eat here. McDonald’s and Swensen’s are at the first floor. You will see them after stepping into the mall.
After going up, you will see that there are several restaurants in the mall. Some of them you may know because it is also available in your country, while some of them you may not know. If it is your first time to Bangkok, I do recommend MK Restaurants (Sukiyaki in Thai style) and Yum saap (Som Tam or Thai green papaya salad).
The Japanese restaurants have been popular in Bangkok almost 10 years. So don’t be surprised if you see them everywhere here. Besides restaurants, Big C also has food court available for you. And, this is a big one. For me, food court is a great place to try street food in an A/C building with menu in English. Besides, you don’t have to worry about how to order the food.
That’s all for the food. Ok, so let’s talk about shopping. Let’s see what you can buy here. Unlike other branches, Big C Rajdamri has several brand name clothing and shoes such as XACT, GIORDANO, LEVI’s, and Mc.
If you want to buy hand-made products, you won’t be disappointed. Hand-made doll, soap, candle, silk, scarf, carved wood, and so on are easily to find there.
And don’t forget to visit Phufa, a shop selling high quality Thai local handicrafts. This shop is a project of HRH Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn.
Besides, at Big C Rajdamri you will find Boots, Watsons, and Beauty Buffet. The shops are located close to each other. If you want to buy cosmetics and beauty products, visit them.
And if you want to try Thai beauty products, visit Oriental Princess and Cute Press. Cuticle Hair Treatment from Oriental Princess and foundation powder from Cute Press are recommended.
Moreover, products such as reed diffuser, aroma massage oil, body cream and scrub are available here.
And there is a booth selling “favorite Thai products”. You can expect to find Thai balm, Thai inhalant, Thai Herbal Lozenge, and so on here.
And last but not least, there is a big corner arranging for tourist named “Tourists Favorites”. If you want to buy Thai snack back to your home country, you will like it. The popular Thai snack brands are put together, so it is easy for you to choose what you want.
All in all, comparing to Siam Paragon and Central World, Big C still has less choice for shopping and eating. However, comparing to other branches, Big C Rajdamri is the best one for shopping and eating. I think people like this branch because of “Tourists Favorites” zone. You can buy snack and other famous Thai products in one area.
