Chiang Khan Story (or Tookkae Rak Pang Mak) is a Thai romantic comedy movie that was released on 2014. The movie is directed by Yuthlert Sippapak and stars Jirayu La-ongmanee and Chonthida Asavahame.
Chiang Khan Story is about a poor orphan boy named Tookkae and a rich beautiful girl named Pang. They were good friends, when they were young. They always played around the town’s cinema, and helped the poster artist paint the movie posters.
But they grow apart. Then, they meet each other again when they are young adults, and they could not remember each other at first. Tookkae is a cartoonist who wants to be a film director, while Pang is now a famous actress.
The film was shot mainly in Chiang Khan, a charming little town which is full with old wooden houses along Mekong River in Loei province, northeast of Thailand.
Honestly, after watching the trailer, I did not expect that it will be a good one. But it is, even if there are many parts of the film that are hardly happen in real life. Besides, some parts of the film reflect what was happening in Thai movie industry (and maybe still happen).
Here is a movie trailer with English subtitle. Enjoy Watching!
