Christmas and New Year 2016 in Bangkok

Same as the years before, during December the streets in Bangkok are decorated nicely to celebrate Christmas and New Year. And the most beautiful spot would, of course, be at Rachaprasong area.

Last year my friend and I started walking trip to see street light from Central Embassy (near Ploenchit BTS station) and ended at Siam Square (you can see it here). This year we walked in an opposite direction starting from Siam Square and ending at Central Embassy.

At Siam Square was quite crowded because there was a big event on that day.

After walking for a while, we walked through Siam Square One. Then, we crossed the bridge to Siam Paragon. For me, the Christmas tree in front of Siam Paragon was quite strange and I did not like it.

Then, we walked on the skywalk to CentralWorld.

In front of the CentralWorld, same as the years before, it was the most popular spot. People came here with cameras to take photos.

From the skywalk, you could see Thao Mahaprom Shrine or Erawan Shrine was decorated nicely too.

On the skywalk, people also enjoyed taking photos with the lights.

We decided to turn right and walked on the Ratchadamri Road. We found that on the road it was less people, but the lights in front of the hotels also nice.NewYear201617

We walked back to the main road and took photo in front of Intercontinental hotel.

Then, we walked to Central Chidlom and Central Embassy, and ended our walking trip there.

We enjoyed taking photos, but frankly I thought Rachaprasong area was much more beautiful in the year before. I liked the concept decoration of the last year more. Well, if you are in Bangkok during this month, I recommend you to walk around Rachaprasong area at least a night.

Have you ever walked around Rachaprasong area in December? Do you like the Christmas lights in Bangkok? Share your experience with me in the comments!
