December is my favorite month because of the weather and the holidays. Here, in Bangkok, we do not have snow in December. Usually in this month we have perfect weather, not too warm and not too cold. Besides the streets are decorated beautifully to celebrate Christmas and New Year.
Same as the years before, on December my friend and I usually have a walk at night at Rachaprasong Area to take photos of Christmas lights. However, as you may know, this year we lost our beloved king and we are now in period of mourning. So, there are only 2 spots that have big decorations.
As you might have guessed, the first spot is in front of Siam Paragon Shopping Mall. This year, the decoration was done in white and gold theme.
There are people taking photos around. However, comparing with the area, it was still not that crowded.
And the second spot is, of course, Central World Plaza. The square in front of the mall is well-known for the Christmas decorations for many years. I took these photos from the skywalk. You can see a LOT, lot people in the square.
Similar to Siam Paragon, this year it comes in theme white, gold, and yellow.
I love that all the Christmas trees wear ribbon which is the symbol of remembrance or mourning.
Even if the decoration this year is less than the years before and not colorful, I like it more! If you are in Bangkok on December and January, don’t forget to visit Rachaprasong area at night and take photos of beautiful Christmas lights.
