English books are easy to buy in Bangkok. If you are looking for English books, just go to the big shopping malls such as Siam Paragon, The Emporium, and Central World Shopping Mall. These big malls usually have big bookstores that sell many English books.
Anyway, the books that are sold in those bookstores are new books. Today I am going to recommend you a bookstore named ‘Dasa’ that sells used English books which are definitely cheaper than those new ones.
Dasa book café is one of most popular second-hand English bookstores in Bangkok. From its website, nowadays this bookstore has more than 17,000 books in stock. The good thing is you can download the list of the book from its website. So, you can see whether the shop has the book you want. Besides, if your place is far from the store, you can order the books online.
You can find books with good conditions in cheap prices here, and after reading it you can also sell it back to the store. Anyway, the store has a policy for exchanging or trading books. If the book is not in good conditions, they might not take it.
The store has 3 floors which are cozy and compact with books. On the first floor, there is a little coffee corner where you can order coffee and bakery while looking for a book. The store has many kinds of books such as children’s books, health, fiction, non-fiction and so on. On the third floor, I found out that there were Scandinavian, German, French and Russian books too.
All in all, I think Dasa Book Café is a great place both Thais and foreigners who love reading and are living in Bangkok.
PS. Sun Books is another used bookstore that is located in this area and worth checking out. If you cannot find the books you want here, you can cross the street and walk a little bit to Sun Books bookstore.
