Explore Bangkok by BTS: Wongwian Yai (S8)

BTS is Bangkok elevated rapid transit system, which is known as Skytrain. With BTS, you can go to the major areas in Bangkok without facing traffic jams. Currently BTS has 2 main lines: Sukhumvit line and Silom line.

Wongwian Yai is a BTS station on Silom line that is located on Krung Thon Buri Road, near Wongwian Yai roundabout or The King Taksin Monument.

What to see around BTS Wongwian Yai Station

Wongwian Yai is a dense residential area. Around the station and the intersection, there are many local shops offering you delicious food. It is one of the great places to eat local food on Thonburi side.

From the station it takes about 20-minute walk to reach The King Taksin Monument, a memorial site to commemorate King Taksin, and Robinson, a shopping mall.

Wongwian Yai Railway Station is also around 20-minute walk from the station. It is a railway station where you can take a train to Maeklong Railway Market or Talad Rom Hub, one of the tourist attractions in Samut Songkhram Province.
