Free Wi-Fi is now available on Bangkok’s buses

Good news for people who are using Bangkok’s buses. The Bangkok Mass Transit Authority announced that WI-FI has been installed on 550 Euro II Buses and passengers are allowed to use it for free. The service is available since August 1st.

Here are the steps to use the WI-FI.

  1. Look for “On Wi-Fi” network on your smart phone.
  2. Connect and register to the system with mobile number, gender, and date of birth.
  3. You will get a password via SMS.

Here is the list of bus numbers that have already installed the service. All of them are air-conditioned buses.

It is good to have this free WI-FI because you do not have to pay for it. However, once you log in, you will be forced to watch advertisement for 15-30 seconds and you will be able to log in for only 10 minutes at a time. After that, you have to log in again.

Today, I have read the feedback from people on its Facebook fanpage. There are many people complaining this free WI-FI about its unstable and slow WI-FI. However, the administrator answered the feedback politely and tried to improve the service. Hope we will have the good and free WI-FI soon.
