Chatuchak Weekend Market is the most popular market in Bangkok, or even in Thailand. It is one of the must-visit places when tourists visit Bangkok. You can find a wide range of product offerings such as books, artwork, furniture, plant, pet, food, musical instrument, clothing, fashion accessories, and so on.
The Grand Palace is another must-visit place in Bangkok. It is a complex of beautiful buildings and home to Wat Phra Kaew and The Emerald Buddha.
In this post I will share you how to get from Chatuchak Weekend Market to The Grand Palace. Chatuchak connects with both BTS Skytrain and MRT Subway, while The Grand Palace does not connect with any rapid transportation system, but is easily accessed by boat. So, here is my recommendation.
BTS + Chao Phraya Express Boat
Take the BTS Skytrain from Mochit Station to Saphan Taksin Station (You have to change the line at Siam Station). The station connects with Sathorn Pier, where you can take Chao Phraya Express Boat. Get off from the boat at Pier Tha Chang and take a short walk to The Grand Palace.
The distance between Chatuchak and The Grand Palace is about 12-14 kilometers. It should take around 30 to 40 minutes to reach the destination. If you come in group of 3 or 4 people, taking taxi might be cheaper and faster. However, this is Bangkok; please bear in mind that you might get caught in the traffic chaos.
Hope this information helps!
