How to get from Chinatown/ Yaowarat to Asiatique

Bangkok’s Chinatown or Yaowarat Road is one of the popular places to visit for tourists. This place is lively both during the day and at night. Chinatown is a trading center of Thai-Chinese people, and popular place for delicious foods.

Asiatique The Riverfront is a new community mall located on the Chao Phraya River bank. It is the great place to spend time in the evening. There are several restaurants and also well-designed shops.

If you are a tourist and you want to visit Chinatown and Asiatique in the same day, you can do so. These two places do not connect with the rapid transit system (Both BTS Skytrain and MRT Subway). So, my recommendation is to take either a taxi or a boat.

The distance between these two places is about 5-6 kilometers. If you take a taxi, it would take around 20 minutes or more depending on the traffic. But if you take a boat, you have to go to Ratchawong Pier, which is the closest pier to Yaowarat Road. Then, take a boat to Sathorn Pier. From that pier, there are Asiatique’s service boats running from 16.00-23.30 at no cost. For me, I prefer to take the boat because I love the river views on the way.

Hope the information helps.
