The Platinum Fashion Mall, Pratunam Market, and Chinatown are the points of interest in Bangkok. Many visitors go shopping at The Platinum Fashion Mall and Pratunam Market. They are popular for not only locals, but also tourists. You can expect to buy cheap fashion items at these two places.

In this post I will share you how to travel from The Platinum Fashion Mall or Pratunam Market to Chinatown Bangkok or Yaowarat. The Platinum Fashion Mall, Pratunam Market, and Chinatown are not connected with BTS Skytrain or MRT Subway. The most nearest MRT station to Chinatown is Hua Lamphong Station which still needs 10-15 minutes walking. So, it is not that convenient to travel between these two places.

Update: May 2017 Recently we have a new skywalk connecting between Chidlom BTS Station and Platinum Mall ( You can read more detail here). However, taxi is still the easiest option to commute between Chinatown and Platinum Mall.

Taxi is the easiest option. The distance between these two places is about 5 kilometers. It should take around 20-30 minutes to reach the destination and the taxi fare should not more than 80 baht. However, it might take more time and cost more depending on the traffic.

You can take bus no. 73 from Pratunam to Chinatown. If you choose this option, try to ensure that the bus passes your destination. Well, I do not recommend this option for visitors who do not speak Thai. Sometimes, the bus might not pass your destination and many drivers and ticket collectors speak little English.

Hope the information helps.
