Siam Square is a meeting place for Thai teenagers and young adults. The area has several alleys and is full with trendy shops and restaurants. Besides, it is also close to several luxury shopping malls such as Siam Square One, Siam Center, and Siam Paragon.
The Grand Palace, Wat Pho, and Wat Arun are must-visit places for tourists in Bangkok. All of them are located near Chao Phraya River bank.
In this post, I will share you how to get from Siam Square to The Grand Palace/ Wat Pho/ Wat Arun. Siam Square connects with BTS Skytrain, so it is easy to go several places in Bangkok. The Grand Palace, Wat Pho, and Wat Arun do not connect with BTS Skytrain, but it is easy accessible by boat. And here is my recommendation to travel from Siam Square to these three attractive places in Bangkok.
BTS + Chao Phraya Express Boat
Take BTS to Saphan Taksin Station which connects with Sathorn Pier. From the pier, you can take Chao Phraya Express Boat. If you want to go to The Grand Palace, get off at Pier Tha Chang and then take a short walk. If you want to go to Wat Pho, get off at Tha Tien and take a short walk. If you want to go to Wat Arun, get off at Tha Tien and then take a cross-river ferry to Tha Wat Arun.
The distance between Siam Square and The Grand Palace or Wat Pho is about 6 kilometers and it should take around 20 minutes to half an hour to reach the destination. For Wat Arun which is located at Thon Buri side of the Chao Phraya River, it is farther and will take a little bit longer.
You can take bus no. 25 or 508 to The Grand Palace and Wat Pho. If you are not familiar to Bangkok area, I do not recommend this option. There is chance that you will get lost.
Happy traveling Bangkok!
