Terminal21 is a shopping mall located on Sukhumvit Road at Asok Intersection. It is a shopping mall with ‘one floor, one theme’ concept. Going to this shopping mall is like traveling the world. For example, the G Floor is decorated in ‘Heaven of Rome’ theme; the 2nd floor is decorated in ‘Oxford Street of London’ theme; the 3rd floor is decorated in ‘Istanbul Market Town’. The decoration has done not only in the retail area but also in the restrooms. So, do not forget to visit them!
While walking at this shopping mall, I always see tourists (and also locals) taking photos in the mall. Terminal21 offer both international shops and local shops. What I like most at this shopping mall is its food court. The food there is very cheap and delicious. The price of the food from some stalls is even cheaper than the food on street.
Asiatique The Riverfront is a shopping center near the Chao Phraya River bank. It is a great place to chill out in the evening. You can have dinner and buy designed or handmade products at this shopping center.
If you are going to visit Bangkok and plan to visit these 2 places in one day, you can do so. I recommend you to go to Terminal21 first. Then, go to Asiatique in the evening. Terminal21 is connected with BTS Skytrain and MRT Subway, while Asiatique is not. My recommendation is to take either taxi or BTS Skytrain.
Taxi can take you to anywhere in Bangkok. The distance between these two places is about 12-15 kilometers. It should take around 20 minutes to half an hour and it should cost about 110 baht or more excluding the toll. However, it may take more time and cost more money depending on the traffic.
BTS Skytrain is another great option. Take BTS Skytrain from Asok Station to Saphan Taksin station (you have to change the line at Siam Station). Then, take Asiatique’s service boat at Sathorn Pier, which connects with Saphan Taksin BTS station. With this option, you have a chance to enjoy the nice river view on the way to Asiatique. The service is available from 16.00-23.30 at no cost.
