There are many Japanese living in Bangkok, and many of them living in the areas on Sukhumvit Road such as Ekamai, Asok, Nana, and Phrom Phong. And Sukhumvit Soi 33/1 is one of the areas that can be called ‘Little Japan town’. When you walk into the soi, you would see many shop signs written in Japanese language. The soi is not long, but it is packed with shops on both sides of the streets.
Here, you can find Japanese Restaurants
Thai massage shops,
Optical shops (Look at the name of the shop. Well, this shop is located in Bangkok!)
Tea shops and so on.
At the end of the soi, there is a 3-price shop named NEO. Everything in the shop is sold in 60 baht, 80 baht, or 100 baht. I saw some product in other prices as well, but the majority prices are 60/80/100 baht. This shop is similar to Daiso shop, a Japanese franchise shop that sells everything in 60 baht. If you are a fan of Daiso, you might like this shop too.
When I was there, I saw many Japanese people. Well, actually I guessed they were Japanese because they looked Asian, but not Thai and some of them spoke Japanese. It is really a place for Japanese who living in Bangkok!
