Sukhothai is a province in upper central Thailand (some said it was in lower northern Thailand), about 440 kilometers north of Bangkok. The name of this province means Dawn of Happiness. Sukhothai is a small province that was the Kingdom of Siam’s first capital, followed by Ayutthaya, Thonburi, and Bangkok.
Sukhothai is famous for the ancient city, Sukhothai Historical Park, which contains the 13th-century palaces and temples. If you are going to visit Sukhothai, don’t miss the mini light and sound shows.
The mini light and sound shows aim to present historical and cultural of Sukhothai. They are organized by Tourism Authority of Thailand, sponsored by Sukhothai Province, and performed by Sukhothai College of Dramatic Arts. There is no admission fee. The performance will take place at Wat Sra Sri, Sukhothai Historical Park, on every 1st Friday of each month from February to September 2016 starting from 19.30. Well, please arrive 30 minutes before the show.
