For people who live in Bangkok like me, when we are talking about going to the sea during weekend, Hua Hin, a district of Prachuap Khiri Khan province, will come up as the first choice. Because of just only 2-3 hours drive from Bangkok, you could see the beach. But some years ago, another district named Pranburi became popular.
For me, both Hua Hin and Pranburi are popular holiday attractions; they are great places to getaway for Bangkokian. However, I have to tell you first that if you want to see the white sand beach and beautiful coral reefs, you have to go further south.
I have been to Pranburi once with my colleagues. Since we went there by my friend’s car, so we could stop everywhere we wanted. Along the way to Pranburi, we first stopped at the salt field and talked to local people who were working on the field. It is good to learn things when we travel. Am I right?
Then, we stopped again to see how people dry fish. We were there just only few minutes because of the strong fishy smell.
And of course, we stopped at the beach.
Our accommodation was 50 kilometers away from Hua Hin. We stayed at the resort named “BanPuLaKhorn”. Ban means home and PuLaKhorn is a species of crab that you can see on the beach near the resort.
This resort is surrounded by the mountains and the sea and near the fishermen’s village. There were some activities available such as swimming in the pool and paddling in the sea.
At that time, we did not visit tourist attractions in Prachuap Khiri Khan province such as palaces, temples, and waterfalls much because we wanted to have a rest and spend time in the resort.
If you want to escape from Bangkok, Pranburi could be your choice.
