Sapai Jao is a Thai romantic comedy lakorn that originally aired in 2002 on Channel 3. The lakorn stars Saharat Sangkapricha (Kong), Sunisa Jett (Vicky), Sarawut Marttong (Aon), and Intira Daengjamroon (Tookta).
Sapai Jao can be translated as “Royal daughter-in-law” in English. The story is about two young women in Rachadamri family: Srijittra and Salin and two young men: M.R.Kittirajnarin (Chai Rong) and M.R.Bodintararajsongpol (Chai Lek). Srijittra is supposed to get married with Chai Rong, but he has already been in love with other woman. Salin accidentally knows about this. She feels sad for her older sister and tries to help her. The more she tries to help, the more she gets closer to Chai Rong. Unexpectedly Chai Rong falls in love with her and she also falls in love with him. At the same time, Srijittra started to have a good feeling for Chai Lek. She feels comfortable when talking to him.
If I am not wrong this version is the first version of Sapai Jao. It was quite popular when it broadcasted. This lakorn becomes one of my (and many people) favorite Thai lakorns. Vicky and Tookta are very cute in their roles. Many people do like the supporting couple (Aon and Tookta) more than the leading couple. Now Channel 3 is remaking this lakorn and the second version of Sapai Jao is going to broadcast soon (I guess within this year, 2015). I want to know how it will be.
The first version is quite old. If you can find it with English subtitle, I highly recommend you to watch it. It is one of the best feel good Thai lakorns. I watched it more than 2 times.
