Do you love shopping? Do you want to see the best Thai teenage shopping place ever?
If yes, I would like to recommend you to go to Siam square. But, this place is not a square like its name. It is made up of streets and alleys filling with boutiques, bookshops, CD/DVD/Video game shops, restaurants, and cafes.
Anyway, Siam Square is not just a place for shopping and hanging out only. This place is also full with tutorial schools. You would see teenagers holding books in their hands while walking around. I also went to the tutorial schools there every week when I was a teenager.
Now Siam square is not a regular meeting place for my friends and me. Maybe because we grow up and are not teenagers anymore, we rarely go there. Anyway, last month my friend and I met up there. Siam square does not change much. It is still a place for teenager. Some shops were closed down, while some shops are still there. For me, it is still a great shopping place. We also had lunch at Doo Dee, the restaurant that we always ate.
To go there, you just get off from the BTS (sky train) at Siam station. Besides, there are shopping malls around that you also could visit such as Siam Paragon, Siam Center, and MBK Center (Mahboonkrong). If you really love shopping, a day might not be enough to walk around there.
PS. If you want to buy things at a cheap price, I would recommend Siam Square, and MBK center. If you want to buy brand name things, Siam paragon and Siam Center are your choices.
Update: May, 2014
How to get there: The easiest way to go is to get off the skytrain (BTS) at Siam station.
