Bangkok is one of the most congested city in the world. Many people living and working here spend more than an hour to get to their office. So, if you have only a day in Bangkok which is packed with interesting places and you would like to make the most of your time, here is my recommendation.
Bangkok has several places that are worth visiting and you cannot see them all within one day. So, first of all, you have to know the places that you would like to visit. If you do not have an idea yet, this post might help.
Well, I guess most of them are outdoor places. So, if you visit Bangkok during May to October, you need a backup plan. Those months are in rainy season. If the rain falls on that day, you might have to visit indoor places instead.
- Choose the right transportation mode
There are two rapid transportation modes running in and around Bangkok: BTS Skytrain and MRT Subway. With these two modes, you can control time much better. However, there are some places that cannot be reached by both BTS and MRT. So, find the directions when making a plan.
Even BTS and MRT make your trip easier, but in the rush hour they are packed with people commuting to work. So, my recommendation is to start your day early. 7.00 am – 9.00 am. is the busiest period. Besides, some places such as The Grand Palace. Being there before group tours is good because you do not have to waste your time in the queue.
Bangkok is hot all year long, so you should have drinking water with you all the time. Drinking water is not expensive in this city. It costs about 10 baht for a bottle of water and you can easily find it at 7-eleven which has branches around the city.
