In recent years, I have seen more and more community malls in Bangkok. So, people in Bangkok have more places to chill out with friends and family. Most of the community malls are not as big as shopping malls, but they offer restaurants, coffee cafés, and trendy shops. Today I am going to recommend you community malls located on the Chao Phraya River bank. They all could be your relax places after visiting the historical sites in Bangkok.
Asiatique The Riverfront – This is the first and the biggest community malls on the Chao Phraya River bank. There are about 1,500 shops and 40 restaurants. People usually go there in the late afternoon. You can go there both by bus and by boat, but I do recommend you to take a free shuttle boat at Sathorn Pier (Central Pier) to see the nice view of buildings and houses. You can see my review of this community mall here.
Yodpiman River Walk– This community mall is not as big as the first one; it offers you a 300-meter walkway on the bank of the river. This mall is very close to Pak Klong Talad, the biggest flower market in Bangkok, and Saphan Phut or the Memorial Bridge. I have been there last month; many shops were still under construction. You can see my review of this community mall here. I believe that soon it is going to be fully opened.
Tha Maharaj – This community mall is also not as big as the first one. I personally like this one the most because of its design. It is the closest pier to The Grand Palace and Wat Phra Kaew. It is also near Tha Phra Chan, the biggest amulet market in Bangkok. You can see my review of this community mall here.
If you have a plan to visit historical sites in Bangkok, these community malls can be your choice for lunch or dinner.
Hope this information helps
