The Tin Mine is a Thai biographical drama movie that was released in 2005. The movie stars Pijaya Vachajitpan and Donlaya Mudcha.
It was a story of a university student named Arjin Panjapan, who was retired from one of the best universities in Thailand and was sent to the tin mine in southern Thailand to work. Instead of studying for four years in the university, he had worked at the mine for 3 years and 11 months before the mine was closed.
The movie did a great job to show us Arjin’s life in the mine and what he had learned from working with foreign bosses and other co-workers there. From a student in the prestige university in a capital city to a worker in the mine, his life changed abundantly and he learned a lot through hardships.
This movie becomes one of the favorite movies for many Thais. For me, it is one of the inspiring movies that we should watch again and again. I watched this movie first time many years ago, and I have just watched it again this morning.
Here is a movie trailer. Unfortunately, this movie is quite old and I cannot find the one with English subtitle. But I believe that there is a version with subtitle. If you can find it, I recommend you to watch it.
