Tourist Spots Near Grand Palace Bangkok

The Grand Palace is the top must-see place in Bangkok or even in Thailand. I am sure that if you are a first-timer to Bangkok, The Grand Palace must be included in your itinerary. Its architecture and history attracted people from around the world. If you are planning a trip to visit Bangkok and want to find other tourist spots near The Grand Palace, this post is for you. In this post, I intend to share places worth visiting near the palace.

Wat Phra Kaew

The first one must be Wat Phra Kaew or the Temple of the Emerald Buddha. This temple is the most sacred temple in Thailand and is located within the precincts of the Grand Palace. So, tourists or even Thai usually visit both the place and the temple in one day.

Wat Pho

Wat Pho or the Temple of the reclining Buddha is another must-see temple. The main attraction, as its name, is the big reclining Buddha. The temple is located just next to The Grand Palace and is well-known for traditional Thai massage. Many locals learn massage at this temple. If you want to Thai massage, I recommend this place. 

Wat Arun

Wat Arun or the temple of dawn is popular because of the pagodas which can be seen from the far distance. The tourists are allowed to climb the grand one and the view from the top is worth the climb. From The Grand Palace, Wat Arun is located on the opposite side of Chao Phraya River Bank.

Wang Lang Market

Wang Lang Market is popular for delicious food. The market is located on the Chao Phraya River banks on Thonburi side. If you want to try local food, I recommend this market. This market is well-known among locals. If you go there, you will see students, working people, and also elders here.

Klong San Market

Maharaj Pier

Maharaj Pier or Tha Maharaj is a community mall on Chao Phraya River bank. This place offers coffee and bakery shops and restaurants with a great river view. If you love taking photos, do consider this place.

ASIATIQUE The Riverfront

ASIATIQUE The Riverfront is an open-air mall, luxurious night market, and entertainment venues with 1,500 shops and 40 restaurants on the banks of the Chao Phraya river that is popular among tourists.
