Victory Monument is one of the bustle areas in Bangkok. It is a transportation hub which is full with buses and vans. The vans not only run around Bangkok, but some of them also bring you to the provinces nearby.
Here is another place for shopping. From skytrain (BTS), look down to the streets on your right, you will see many shops.
If you continue walking along the circle, you will see 3 main malls: Victory mall, Fashion mall, and Center one. All malls are connected with a footbridge. Center one is also connected with a shopping soi (alley) named “soi roy ran”.
(Updated: November,2017 – Fashion Mall closed down on November 1st, 2017)
The shops around here sell woman clothes, handbags, shoes, and accessories. It is also full with street foods. If you come here, don’t forget to try the popular food, Thai boat noodle.
Well…I have to tell you first that the area around Victory Monument is big and there are many shops available, but the number of shops is much less than the number of shops at The Platinum Fashion Mall and Chatuchak weekend market. For me, the clothes and the prices are not much different, but in those 2 places it is cheaper if you buy more.
Update: February, 2014
Location: Victory Monument. Get off from skytrain (BTS) at Victory Monument station. Then, walk through Victory Monument Skywalk around the circle.
Opening Hours: Almost all shops are open every day.
