August 2017 has just passed and this blog post aims to tell you how the weather in Bangkok, Thailand in August 2017 was. I believe that this information is useful for visitors who plan to visit Bangkok in August.
August is still in rain season. In general, the weather should be similar to June and July. It should be rain often and the weather should be not-that-hot like in April or May.
In August 2017, as expected, it rained 3-4 times a week. Sometimes it rained the whole night. However, when it did not rain, it was very warm and the temperature went up to more than 30 degrees Celsius.
What you can expect during rainy season here is the traffic jam. In Bangkok, after raining hard for few hours, some areas were flooded and congested.
If you plan to visit Bangkok during August, I recommend you to pack both umbrella/ raincoat and sunscreen. You have high chance to use them both. And don’t forget to bring drinking water with you. Besides, you should have a flexible plan. On a rainy day, you might visit museums or malls instead of temples or outdoor markets. And, in order not to stuck on the traffic, wander around Bangkok with rapid transportation system such as BTS and MRT.
Happy traveling Bangkok!
