Chatuchak is one of the districts of Bangkok. If you are planning to visit Bangkok and want to know what you can do in and around Chatuchak area, you have come to the right place. I am writing this post in order to share you places that are worth visiting in this area. I hope you find it useful.
Chatuchak Weekend Market
This is the most popular attraction places in Chatuchak area. Chatuchak Weekend Market is the biggest outdoor market in Thailand and gives visitors unique shopping experiences. You can find almost everything you want at this market. You can see my review of this market here.
Besides, there are other 2 shopping places in this area. JJ Mall is an indoor shopping; if you go to Chatuchak Market on a very hot day, you can escape from the heat at this mall. Another shopping place in this area is JJ Green; this is a community mall selling vintage and unique products. The best time to go to this mall is after sunset.
Chatuchak Park, Queen Sirikit Park, and Vachirabenjatas Park (Suan Rot Fai)
There are 3 parks in this area. Chatuchak Park and Queen Sirikit Park is located next to Chatuchak Weekend Market, while Vachirabenjatas Park is a little bit further away from the market. I myself like Vachirabenjatas Park most because the park is huge and offers several activities such as riding a bicycle or row a boat.
Suan Mokkh Bangkok (or Buddhadasa Indapanno Archives)
Suan Mokkh Bangkok is located near Vachirabenjatas Park. It is a place where you can learn dhamma. The dhamma events are regularly organized. You can read more detail at its website and its facebook fanpage.
Bangkok Children’s Discovery Museum
Just only 10-minute walk from Chatuchak Park MRT Station or Mochit BTS Station, you will find Bangkok Children’s Discovery Museum, a place worth spending time with your kids. This museum has just been reopened early of this year after renovation.
The Marketing Organization for Farmers (MOF) or known as Or Tor Kor Market
Or Tor Kor Market is a high quality fresh market where you can expect fresh meats and fruits. To go to this market, I recommend you to take MRT and get off at Kamphaeng Phet station.
