Silom is a district in Bangkok. It is an important business area where you will see many office buildings. Some tourists choose to stay in Silom area because it is close to both BTS Skytrain and MRT Subway, and not so far from Bangkok’s historical sites. If you are finding what to do in Silom, you have come to the right place. I am writing this post in order to share you places that are worth visiting in Silom area.
This is a not-so-big shopping mall in Silom area, but I believe it offers what most people expect to shop and eat in a shopping mall. There are a wide range of restaurants and shops. Both international and local designed products can be found here. This mall has a skybridge connecting with BTS Skytrain and it is in a walking distance from Si Lom MRT Station.
Lalai Sap Market
This is a popular market for people who work in this area. Thai people love shopping and we shop during lunch. The market is full with stalls selling food, clothing, shoes, handbags, accessories, mobile cases, and so on. You can see my review of this market here.
This is a street running between Silom Road and Surawong Road. It is a popular red light district in Bangkok. You can walk from both BTS Skytrain and MRT Subway to Patpong.
Lumpini Park is a big park that can be reached by both BTS Skytrain and MRT Subway. The park offer several activities for the visitors. You will see many people running in the morning and in the evening and the park will be more crowded on weekends.
Wat Khaek or Sri Maha Mariamman Temple is a Hindu temple that is located on Silom Road. Its architecture is colorful and beautiful; it is different from Buddhist temples in Bangkok. Many Thai people go there in order to pray for love.
